GoLang Tutorial - Packages
“Don't Repeat Yourself.”
packages is one of the mechanism for code reuse: we've seen import "fmt"
.
fmt
is a package in Go programming language that provides a collection of functions used for formatting data
and displaying it on the screen
Let's import additional package, math:
Notice that we imported two packages enclosed with '()', no comma(',') between them.
Let's make a string utility of reversing a string, and put it into src/github.com/einsteinish/go_tutorial/string_util:
Then, import it from "hello.go" and run it:
Notice that when we import our string_util library we use its full name (import "github.com/einsteinish/go_tutorial/string_util"), but inside of the hello.go file we only use the last part of the name (package string_util).
